Assesstival
Each year during May Institute faculty and staff, programs, courses, co-curricular units, and university assessments are presented in a poster session. Posters are available to view throughout the week and this year awards will be presented for outstanding assessment work.
ASSESSMENT SPOTLIGHT
Dr. Teresa Bixby, Assistant Vice Provost for Assessment and Educational Effectiveness, shared the work of the Gen Ed Integrative Learning assessment at May Institute 2024. This work illustrates the essential teamwork of 6 domain experts to assess students’ reflection in Interdisciplinary Seminar, Globalization, and Civic Engagement Courses. The poster work highlights the final results of an assessment, revision to the rubric, and reassessment.
Dr. Dennis Cremin and the History Department shared program assessment ‘Continuous Quality Improvement of the History BA Capstone’ at May Institute 2025. This work provides an excellent example of closing the loop – assessment, intervention, reassessment.
Dr. George Klemic, instructor in Business Administration, shared longitudinal assessment of their Ethics program learning outcome at May Institute 2025. This work is an excellent example of closing the loop and the assessment of ethics in the discipline.
An archive of Assesstival! posters can be found under Accreditation and Assessment on the myLewis portal.
